Home Painting Ideas

When looking for the right paint colors for your home, you should take the time to find what is right. Don't skip the research. Look at design and home store magazines. Make a note of the rooms that you especially like, and consider if that paint color would work in your home. It's also a good idea to keep track of colors you don't like. That way when you're at the paint store, bombarded by the millions of colors, you won't pick something that came from way out in left field. Another good method of choosing paint colors in your home is by finding a painting, pillow, or accessory that you especially love, and go with it! I know people who designed their whole room around one pillow they found and loved.

The first thing to do a once you think you have the right color, is to get a sample and paint it on the wall. Leave it there for a few days. Try to imagine what the whole room will look like being that color. Ask yourself a few questions, Do you like it? Is it too bold? Not enough? These few days are like a trial run for that color. Then you can say yes or no to that color after you've considered it. This is also a good time to get opinions from other people. What do they think of what you've chosen? But remember, your opinion is the most important of all.

Once you have chosen the paint, it is time to find a good painter. Most painters actually get a better rate at buying the paint. Let them buy the color your choose. There are many painters out there, and it's important to do your research, and if possible, see the work they've done. See if they have a BBB account. Be sure that when you hire that painter, expectations are clear on both sides. You need to be satisfied of the work you're paying for, and that you'll love your home after it's freshly painted.

You will probably be little shocked by the change of color in your home after the job is done, don't panic! Sometimes people are shocked at first and wished they wouldn't have chosen such bold colors, but after a few weeks end up loving it. It can take a little time to break into that color and welcome it to your home.
